Around the Upstate is a digital media platform—including a podcast and online magazine—that acts as a "digital megaphone" for exceptional local businesses and a "concierge service" for local residents. We find the most interesting stories in our community and share them with thousands of engaged Upstate residents who are passionate about supporting local.
Our goal is to be your trusted guide to the stories behind the most interesting businesses, people, and places in our community. Through our podcast and online magazine, we help you discover the hidden gems and local favorites that make the Upstate a special place to live.

No. We go much deeper than that. Instead of a review, we tell a story. We believe the best way to know a business is to know the people and the passion behind it. Our goal is to give you the context and the "why" so you can make confident decisions about where to eat, shop, and who to hire.

We love that! Our community is our best source for finding hidden gems. Please visit our "Contact Us" page and send us a note with the business's name and why you think their story needs to be told. While we can't feature everyone, we read and consider every single nomination.
